One of the few SNL skits to be successfully turned into a film, The Blues Brothers qualified as a musical although with more swearing than most other film musicals (with the exception of the South Park film, which was about cursing). Songs were going to play a role in the film, and what may be the best is the band playing the theme from the TV show “Rawhide” because they don’t know any other country songs. Thank god for chicken wire.
